County Commissioner Johnnie Carswell joins us to talk about the situation surrounding the Burke County Jail, which is facing infrastructure issues as well as overcrowding. The commission previously voted to build a new jail and spent around 700 thousand taxpayer dollars on architectural designs. In May, the council voted 3-2 to rescind all plans to build a new jail. Johnnie was one of the two voting to continue. After hitting the jail issue we broaden the scope and explore his conservative perspective on a variety of issues.
